About Us
Making Boxing Accessible
We believe boxing should be accessible to people of all abilities. Because no one should face discrimination or obstacles when trying to access sports and physical activities. We believe that people of all abilities should have the chance to enjoy the many benefits of participating in physical training, such as increased strength, fitness, wellbeing and overall health.
Boxing has the potential to change people’s lives. Our programmes, delivered by expert coaches in a safe and knowledgeable environment, encourage everyone to get involved and experience the many benefits not only for the participant but also for their friends, family and peers.
The Adaptive Boxing Programme removes barriers and provides people of every ability access to safe and high-quality wheelchair based boxing training.
We strive to increase accessibility, inclusion, and diversity in the world of boxing. Our coaches are trained appropriately to ensure they have an in-depth understanding of the anatomical and social impacts of various disabilities or additional needs.
Our Adaptive Boxing Programme sessions, online and offline include fitness and technique development, opportunities to connect with other adaptive athletes and take part in exhibition events. They showcase the best of adaptive boxing and are building an inclusive community where everyone feels able to join the sport.
At Adaptive Boxing, our mission goes beyond inclusivity—we are creating a groundbreaking new sport designed to one day stand on the global stage at the Paralympic Games. Through years of dedicated research, development, and hands-on practice within active gyms, we’ve meticulously shaped Adaptive Boxing into a fully realised discipline.
With guidance from amateur and professional coaches boasting over a century of combined experience, we’ve developed a unique approach that is separate from traditional boxing, yet rooted in its core principles. Our exhibition bouts and training programs are crafted specifically to empower adaptive athletes, ensuring that this new sport continues to evolve with the same rigor, respect, and passion as any other competitive discipline.
